Join the Alliance
We're brand new, and we're starting the way we mean to continue: with free listings and no hard sell.
Free listings — open now
If you're part of Appalachia's literary life, you belong in the directory:
- Bookstores, cafés, and libraries — claim or correct your listing, or add one we missed. Partner listings are free, forever.
- Authors, poets, and illustrators — free basic listings open as the creator directory rolls out.
- Small presses, festivals, and literary organizations — you're the infrastructure; you're welcome here.
To get listed (or fix a listing), email hello@appalachianauthorsalliance.com with your name, town and state, a link, and a sentence about what you do. A human reads every one.
Authors: get your shelf
Every member author gets a page on Our Authors: your bio, your links, and your full shelf of books, with one title featured on our home page in rotation. It's free. To join, email hello@appalachianauthorsalliance.com with:
- Your name and your town/state in the Appalachian footprint
- A short bio (a paragraph is perfect)
- Your website or social link, if you have one
- Your books: title, year, a purchase link, and a cover image for each — and tell us which ONE to feature
A human reads every submission, and we verify that members are real Appalachian creators before a shelf goes up.
Membership — coming, at a community price
Full membership (a complete profile, a member badge, spotlight eligibility, and promotion of your work) is planned at $25 a year — the same neighborly band as the region's writers' organizations. We'll open it when it's ready and not a day before. Free listings will stay free regardless.
